Cellaven, a start-up specializing in cell culture automation, announces a €2.8 million financing round from FINOVAM Gestion, Bpi France Amorçage Industriel and other private investors. Joffe & Associés (Thomas Saltiel, Charlotte Viandaz and Clémence Bressolin) advised FINOVAM GESTION and BPI France Amorçage Industriel on this transaction.

Founded in 2022 by Julien Maruotti and Suriya Gunin, Cellaven develops NESTOR, an in vitro cell culture system for R&D laboratories. NESTOR is designed to simplify and automate cell culture processes, a traditionally laborious and error-prone task. Thanks to this innovation, laboratories will be able to considerably reduce manual labor, increase precision and improve the efficiency of their research.

This €2.8 million round of financing from FINOVAM GESTION, Bpifrance Amorçage Industriel, 3Aventures, the INSEAD Angels network and several private investors will enable Cellaven to finalize the development of NESTOR and prepare its marketing. The startup plans to launch its product on the market as early as 2025. This financing is crucial to move from the development phase to industrial production and distribution.

“We are delighted to welcome FINOVAM GESTION and Bpifrance Amorçage Industriel to Cellaven. Together with the other investors, we have an exceptional opportunity to provide a cell culture automation solution designed to make life easier for scientists, and free them from laboratory routine. explains Julien Maruotti, Co-founder and President of Cellaven for BPI France. “
